Music… Everybody listens to it but everybody has different tastes. However, it still helps you to feel pumped-up or motivated. That’s why every gym has one playing 24/7. But how about work? Can you get more productive?
Well, according to a survey conducted by Sodexo Engage, the UK’s leading experts in employee engagement, has revealed answers to it, by asking 2 000 respondents.
Now you are thinking it should be something like rock or hip-hop at the top, right? These two genres are always playing in the movies when something great is about to happen or to boost the motivational levels.
Apparently, according to a survey pop music had 58% of survey respondents reveal that it’s their go-to genre to help them work their best. Rock was second with 47%, Dance third with 42%. With Country and Jazz at the bottom with less than 20%.

Interestingly, heavier beats offered by music genres such as rock (26%), dance (21%), and hip hop (12%), were most favored to get the blood pumping for workers carrying out manual labor.
Depending on the task, whether employees are writing (35%), doing manual labor tasks (33%), administrative work (31%), or reading (18%), pop music was revealed as the most popular genre to listen to for productivity.
