Job Summary
We are urgently looking for an experienced 3rd Engineer to join our team on a Pipe Layer vessel in the Gulf of Mexico. The 3rd Engineer will report to the Chief Engineer and will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting the machinery, engines, and equipment associated with the vessel. The 3rd Engineer must have a good understanding of marine engineering systems and a thorough knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of marine propulsion engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and related auxiliary systems.

Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain and repair marine propulsion engines, generators, pumps, compressors and related auxiliary systems
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in machinery and equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair as needed
- Monitor machinery performance and make necessary adjustments
- Perform daily engine room rounds and maintain records
- Assist with the deployment and operation of the pipe layer system
- Assist with the loading and unloading of the pipe layer system
- Monitor fuel levels and engine performance
- Maintain a clean engine room
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous experience as 3rd Engineer on same or similar type of vessels;
- National COC and Seaman’s Book;
- Valid STCW certificates;
- Valid Seafarer’s Medical;
- US visa;
- Fluent English;
- Good references.
